Your next chapter deserves its own savings. Give every goal a place, a purpose, and rules you choose.

Good things
start with a goal.

Covault is being built to keep your everyday spending and your bigger plans in separate places.

Big plans. Their own space.

A trip, your own place, a fresh start. Give each goal a name and a target, separate from everyday spending.

Structure you choose.

Choose a target or a date to work toward, with clear rules for when your savings can be released.

Explore savings rules

Savings rules even we can't break.

Commitment works best when it's built in. Choose when your savings unlock.

  • A date to look forward to
  • A target to work toward
  • A waiting period for early release

The rules live in each goal's savings vault, not in our support inbox. Covault can't unlock, move or freeze your goal money, and neither can a support request.

How the rules work

See how far
you've come.

Your goal, your progress, your next step. A clearer picture of what you're putting money toward.

A target you can picture.

See what you've set aside and what's left to reach your goal.

Every balance has a purpose.

Keep your available money distinct from the savings committed to your goals.

Your rules, in view.

Know what you're committing to, including the waiting period for an early release.

Give your savings
room to grow.

Earning is planned for a later release. Here's how we expect it to work.

  1. You choose the amount.

Decide how much, if any, of your savings to put toward earning.

  2. It's placed with a third party.

Your money goes into a third-party lending strategy. Borrowers pay interest.

  3. Everything else stays put.

Your money stays where it is until you choose to move it.

The rate is variable and no return is promised. Returns vary and losses are possible. Earning is not available yet.

How earning will work

Good questions.

Can I use Covault today?

Covault is in development. Join the waitlist to hear when it opens. Deposits and live savings features are not available through this website.

What makes a goal different from a balance?

A goal gives your savings a specific purpose, target and set of rules. It's designed to keep that money separate from your everyday spending.

What if I need my savings early?

The planned goal flow includes an early-release request followed by a waiting period. You'll see the applicable rules before committing money to a goal.

Will automatic payments use my card?

We're building balance-first payments. If your available balance isn't enough, an optional saved card or bank would cover only the difference, with your permission and limits. This feature is not available yet.

How do the savings rules work?

When you create a goal you choose a date, a target, or either one, whichever comes first. Until the rule is met your savings stay put. Rules can be made stricter later, never looser. If you need the money sooner, you can request an early release and wait out the cooling-off period you saw up front.

Who holds my money?

Your savings sit in a vault tied to your account, not in a Covault company account, and only you can withdraw them once your rules allow. Covault can't move, unlock or freeze that money. The issuer of the digital dollars your savings are held in can, in rare legal cases, freeze funds. The product disclosure at the bottom of this page has the details.

Are there limits, and who can join?

We plan to open in the United States first, with launch limits of $5,000 per goal and $50,000 per person across all goals. These may change before launch. Join the waitlist and we'll tell you when your region opens.

Will my savings earn interest or a return?

Not at launch. Covault pays no interest and promises no return, and your savings are not invested. Earning is planned for a later release: you would choose how much, if any, to place in a third-party lending strategy, where returns vary and losses are possible. It is not available today.

How do I sign up?

Covault is a mobile app. You'll sign in with Apple or Google, with no new password to remember. We'll share which devices are supported when it opens.

Is Covault a bank?

No. Covault is not a bank, and savings are not covered by deposit insurance. Please read the product disclosure below before joining.
